Editor, Social Media/Marketing Coordinator, and Website Manager.

1 / Editor

Description: 

 

As an Editor for Abrasu, you will play a vital role in the editorial process by reviewing and evaluating submissions from writers seeking publication.

 

Duties:

 

  • Read and evaluate incoming submissions, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, etc.

  • Provide thoughtful and constructive feedback on submissions based on originality, creativity, style, and adherence to submission guidelines

  • Ensure that all selected submissions meet the magazine’s editorial standards and focus

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Clear and effective written communication skills

  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and guidelines

  • Previous experience in editorial roles is beneficial, but not required

2 / Social Media/Marketing Coordinator

Description:

 

As a Social Media/Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing Abrasu’s online presence and promoting our literary content across various social media platforms. Interested applicants can visit our Instagram @abrasumag to explore our visual style and presentation and gain insight into our creative direction.

 

Duties:

 

  • Create engaging and creative content (text and graphics) for posts on platforms like Instagram and Twitter

  • Promote Abrasu through regular posts highlighting featured content and upcoming events

  • Provide updates on calls for submissions, contests, and other opportunities for writers

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in writing and editing

  • Familiarity with major social media platforms

  • Proficiency in digital content creation and editing, especially in Canva

  • Previous experience in social media engagement or digital marketing is a plus, but not required

3 / Website Manager

Description:

 

As a Website Manager for Abrasu, you will help ensure our website functions smoothly, remains visually appealing, and aligns with the magazine’s brand.

 

Duties:

 

  • Regularly update content, images, and features on the Abrasu Magazine website using the Wix platform

  • Ensure website layout is intuitive, aesthetically appealing, and optimized for user experience

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the website’s functionality

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Basic understanding of graphic and web design

  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Familiarity with Wix preferred but not required
